We have compiled a lot of the commonly asked questions of our guests when planning a trip to Disney World. We will continue to add more as we get more questions :)
Travel Planning FAQ
This is a question that will be different for each person, but we like to say it is what you make of it!
If you want to do Disney on a Budget you definitely Can. Value Resorts on property, no rental car, and bring snack/food into the parks with you to save.
if you want to spend a lot, Stay at a Deluxe Resort, Rent a Car, make a dining reservation for every meal and buy new minnie mouse ears every day.
You can go either way or meet in the middle. Its up to you :)
No, however we love them!
In Short, Magic Bands are a wristband that can be used as your room key, park ticket, credit card (if linked) and more! There are literally hundreds of styles that you can choose from. If you do buy yours through your hotel booking, they will be shipped to you about 2-4 weeks before your arrival date and can be used as soon as you arrive!
If you decide to not purchase one, when you check into your hotel you will receive a standard room Key card to be used.
Its up to you, and you can purchase/activate when you arrive too in case you decide you want one later
We recommend right away! While sometimes flight prices may fluctuate, we generally find that they only go up and not down.
As for the hotel, We have a set number of guaranteed rooms in our room block. Once those are full, it is based on general resort availability. Disney requires a $200 deposit to book and generally you can cancel 30 days out for a full refund.
Florida weather is as wild as the news stories that come our of the state! That being said, we have found December to be pretty stable. Historically the high is around 74 degrees, and low around 50. However, we have seen 90 degrees as well as 32 degrees. We encourage you to look at the weather forecast about 1 week out to plan. For more weather information, you can go to this link to learn more about weather in Orlando in December:https://www.weather-us.com/en/florida-usa/walt-disney-world-resort-weather-december
We are excited for you to make the trip too and would love to meet up if we can make it work!
Feel free to reach out to us and we can see if we can make something work out. As i am sure you can expect, we will have quite a bit of things to do before the wedding, so we encourage you to RSVP for our Welcome Celebration too so we can spend time together!
We will have some days in theme parks that we will share with you all. If you want to join us for a ride or a churro, don't be shy!
Wedding FAQ
Yes :)
To have a ceremony in a Disney Theme Park, you must have it outside of park hours. With that, the option is early morning, or late at night. We chose morning as while it may be a bit of a challenge to get up early, who knew our guests would be able to enjoy the reception to its fullest. A late night ceremony likely wouldn't have started until 10pm at the earliest and reception beginning close to midnight. We felt that morning was the right choice. Don't worry.... Coffee will be readily available!
Short Answer.... No. Long Answer? Also no.....
For this In-Park Ceremony we have to all arrive via Disney Transportation. They will take everyone backstage and all will need to be cleared by Disney Security. The Main parking lot will be closed and if you drive, you will be turned away.
About 1 week out, we will get the final Itinerary from Disney and we will have the pick up times. Our transportation will pick up from our 4 host hotels:
Disney's Boardwalk Resort
Disney's Port Orleans-Riverside Resort
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
Disney's Pop Century Resort.
For those staying offsite, We will designate 1 hotel for everyone to park at/Uber to for pickup.
We are so excited to be able to have our ceremony inside Disney's Animal Kingdom! It truly is a dream come true. While we know this is super cool, there will not be any rides available and open. Once the ceremony is complete everyone will be taken to the reception venue.
While we would love to have even more people attend our events, In order to ensure that we were able to make our Disney Fairy Tale Wedding happen within our budget, we have to keep our guest list limited.
For those who may have found this site through means other than our wedding invite, all names will be checked against the guest list prior to being admitted to any of our events. Sorry!
We love that your making this a family vacation, but we understand that you might want some time away from the little ones as well. There are some option for professional baby sitting services in the area that have been vetted by Disney. Please let us know if you have questions or need any information on these services
We are excited too!! It is truly a beautiful venue. Here are some general do's and dont's for having a cell phone or taking photos during the ceremony.
#1- Please keep all cell phones on Airplane mode during the ceremony.
#2- take all the photos you want BEFORE The ceremony begins
#3- Once the ceremony begins please keep your phone put away and let our professional photographers capture the moment. We will have a moment planned during the ceremony where we will encourage you to take photos! Besides that, keep them away
For those who have been married before, you know that the photographer is one of the most expensive parts of the budget, and we would be so sad if one of our favorite photos to be ruined by a bright light of a phone.
#4- Once the ceremony is over, feel free to take photos again :)
We really appreciate you being understanding of this request. If you are seated near someone who maybe wasn't informed, kindly let them know of our wishes.
Disney Parks FAQ
Disney has many different modes of transportation to get around between its parks and it is 100% free. While they are designed to help resort guests, It is free for anyone to use. Below are the Methods Available:
Bus
Disney has a massive fleet of buses that connect each theme park with each other as well as the different resorts.
Monorail
Connecting the Magic Kingdom to EPCOT as well as the different Bay Lake Resorts this is a classic way to get around.
Boat
Many Parks are located on waterways and can get you from place to place by boat. While not usually the fastest, it can often be the most relaxing way to get around.
Skyliner
The newest addition to Disney Transportation, this cable car system connects multiple resorts and theme parks! We absolutely love to start and end our day on the skyliner whenever possible.
Our general recommendation for first-timers to Disney World is to NOT buy park hopper tickets.
Unlike Disneyland in California (Or even Universal Orlando), None of the Disney Parks are a quick walk from each other. Generally it takes 30-60 minutes to get between the parks (not taking into account traffic) and you will need to drive/take Disney transportation. There is also a lot to do at each park and you may find park hopping rushes you or makes it difficult to get everything done.
Definitely! in fact, we encourage you to find at least one that really stands out. Disney is known for great food and atmosphere at their restaurants, and there are plenty that we must hit during each of our visits.
That being said, Disney releases dining reservations 60 days prior (at 5:45am EST). If you really must eat at this restaurant, we recommend waking up early to try and snag that spot! Some of the restaurants that fill quick include:
O'Hana
Be our Guest
Victoria and Albert's
Most Character Dining
