OK So we can't convince you to stay on Disney Property?
No hurt feelings on our end! We Promise!
With over 480 hotels in the greater Orlando area, there is certainly a hotel to fit everyone's budget and vacation style. We enjoy staying on Disney property, but its not for everyone. You can find every major hotel chain in Orlando, plus plenty of other resorts in the area.
We would like to remind our guests that Transportation to the Ceremony venue will only be provided from the 4 Hotels in our room block:
- Disney's Boardwalk Inn and Villas Resort
- Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
- Disney's Pop Century Resort
- Disney's Port Orleans-Riverside

While you might not actually believe it... we do go to more than just Disney! From Chris' work travel to our other vacation plans in Orlando, we have stayed at a few other properties. Below are just a few of our recommendations.

This hip and modern hotel on Universal Studios property has sweeping views of the Orlando area complete with a rooftop bar!! Room rates average around $200 per night and amenities include a small pool, bus transportation to Universal Parks, and the great dining available at the Universal City Walk!

To us, this resort has Polynesian and Jungle Cruise vibes. This Universal Hotel is what they consider "Premier" and while the at hotel amenities are definitely a step up with an incredible pool area as well as great restaurants, where they really stand out is that all rooms come with FREE UNIVERSAL EXPRESS UNLIMITED!! In short, its a free front of the line pass for your entire room that normally costs over $100 per person per day! The pass is valid for both your day of check in and day of check out, so a family of 4 on a 1 night stay, thats essentially an $800 value on a room that ranges between $400 and $600 per night!!

Ok, hear me out!!! I know I said off site hotels, and not Disney, but this is kind of both of them!! While it is on Disney World property, it is actually a Marriott Hotel (Under the Sheraton brand!). So for those of you looking to cash in points its a great option! These rooms average $200-350 per night, or points redemption for the wedding weekend are currently around 60,000 points per night. Benefits of staying here do include early park entry just like Disney owned resorts.

You read that right! Margaritaville has landed in Orlando! So break out the flip flops and the aloha shirt and get ready to sing all of your favorite Jimmy Buffet tunes! Chris had the pleasure of staying here in 2019 and really enjoyed his trip. The beautiful modern coastal themed rooms were a great place to end each day. They even have cottages (some with private pools!) for larger family groups to stay in if that's what you need. Room rates vary, but hotel rooms start at $239. Heck, at time of writing, on wedding weekend there was a 5 bedroom cottage that sleeps 12 going for only $378 a night. Now THATS a deal worth drinking to!

Chris has stayed at many different Marriott and Hilton properties throughout Orlando. Most are the same standard rooms you can get at those brand anywhere, but sometimes consistency is great. Recent searches have also shown prices for some resorts even hovering right at the $100 mark. We always recommend reading individual reviews, but you can't go wrong with most of the options.

With Orlando being such a large tourist destination there are definitely hotels you should avoid. We always recommend booking with a name that you have heard of, and to avoid places like "Uncle Mickey's Super Motor Lodge"! Usually those hotels have not been kept up well and will likely be a rough experience for you. Always read the reviews before booking anywhere.
